That face is made entirely of latex and painted by hand in the Menart workshop, where the mechanics and electronics that make it move are built too, with care in every last detail.

Can Tommy Express be placed outdoors?
Tommy Express is an indoor animatronic, with IP54 certification and temperatures between 10 and 25 °C. With a few adjustments it can sometimes go outdoors: ask Menart via the form at the bottom of the page.
It fits in the Christmas area of a garden centre, the concourse of a shopping centre or a covered Christmas village, sheltered from rain and humidity.

Does Tommy Express come with its stone tunnel?
No, the stone tunnel and the postbox for letters you see in the photographs are a set that Menart can add around the train.
Tommy Express includes the animatronic train, the control unit, the start panel and the sound system. A single press of the start panel begins a sung story of about 2 minutes, while the locomotive moves its mouth, eyes and eyelids.
How much space does Tommy Express need?
Tommy Express is 220 cm wide, 230 cm deep and 200 cm high, with a face 80 cm in diameter, and must be kept at least 150 cm from the public, behind a fence. It runs on 12 V and 220 V, and assembly is quick and simple with the manual and video instructions supplied by Menart.
Is Tommy Express suitable for a theme park?
Yes, Tommy Express also works in the covered areas of a theme park, such as halls dressed for Christmas.
